Dolores Hidalgo, Guanajuato, Mexico —
From its very first entries in international competitions, Tres Raíces began writing a story of quality. Starting in 2018, its wines earned major awards at competitions around the world, showing the potential of a young winery committed to making wines worthy of representing Guanajuato and Mexico.
Still, as with all great projects, excellence isn't built overnight. Behind every medal there is a process of learning, evolution, and continuous improvement that, over the years, shaped a distinct identity.
The arrival of winemaker Aarón Huertas, together with the commitment and dedication of the entire Tres Raíces team, marked the beginning of a new chapter. Since then, Tres Raíces wines have consistently ranked among the best at some of the industry's most prestigious competitions, such as the Concours Mondial de Bruxelles, Guía Peñín, Bacchus, and the Decanter World Wine Awards, as well as other leading international competitions, going head to head year after year with labels from the world's most important wine regions.

Along the way, two labels emerged that soon became more than the winery's flagships; they became stars of Mexican wine: Cabernet Sauvignon Reserva and Gran Reserva.
With a constant presence at these major competitions, both wines have shown that great results come from a philosophy built on hard work, discipline, and a constant drive to improve. Today, their track record places them among the most awarded wines in the state of Guanajuato and among the most internationally recognized Mexican labels.
GRAN RESERVA: THE HOUSE WINE THAT REDEFINED TRES RAÍCES
To talk about Gran Reserva is to talk about the ultimate expression of Tres Raíces. More than a flagship label, it embodies the vision of a winery that has found its path to excellence in careful vineyard work, precision in the cellar, and the passage of time. In recent years, this wine has become one of the great benchmarks of Guanajuato and Mexican wine.
Gran Reserva is a blend of Cabernet Sauvignon and Malbec, two varieties that together bring balance, structure, and complexity. Cabernet Sauvignon stands out for its tannins, intensity, and aging potential, qualities that gain depth and elegance through careful winemaking and barrel aging. Malbec adds concentration, fruit intensity, and a velvety texture that complements the structure of the Cabernet Sauvignon. Together, the two varieties create a wine of character and depth, designed to be the ultimate expression of Tres Raíces.
Behind every vintage is work that begins in the vineyard and continues through every stage of winemaking. Grape selection, precision in the cellar, and aging time all aim to preserve the identity of the varieties while developing greater complexity. It is in this balance that Gran Reserva finds its personality.
That pursuit is also reflected in its international awards. Beyond the medals, the consistency of its results before expert panels and thousands of wines from different regions shows the work and dedication behind every vintage. That's why Gran Reserva isn't just an award-winning wine; it's the result of Tres Raíces' evolution and the experience gained with every harvest.
One of the most representative achievements of this journey has been its performance at the Concours Mondial de Bruxelles (CMB), considered by experts to be one of the most important and demanding wine competitions in the world. Each edition brings together thousands of labels from dozens of countries, judged in fully blind tastings by a panel of Masters of Wine, sommeliers, winemakers, journalists, and trade buyers.
On this stage, Gran Reserva won a Gold Medal in 2025 and took home the Gold Medal again in 2026, a feat very few labels achieve. Winning a medal at this competition is already an extraordinary honor; repeating the result two years in a row confirms the consistency of a wine that belongs among the international elite.
That same consistency shows in Guía Peñín, the most influential specialist publication on Spanish wine and one of the references most consulted by importers, distributors, and consumers worldwide. Gran Reserva's score has risen year after year, from 90 points in 2024 to 92 points in 2025, reaching 93 points in the 2026 edition, making it the only wine in the region to achieve that score this year.
International recognition also came from Spain at the Bacchus International Competition, the country's only competition endorsed by the International Organisation of Vine and Wine (OIV) and by VINOFED. In the 2025 edition, Gran Reserva was awarded a Gold Medal by a panel of some of the most respected professionals in the industry.
Then there are the Decanter World Wine Awards, considered by many to be the most prestigious wine competition in the world. Organized by the British magazine Decanter, it brings together some of the industry's most experienced judges, and only the very best wines earn outstanding scores. In 2025, Gran Reserva scored 92 points, a rating that holds its own on the international stage.
The list grows with major awards at other leading competitions. At the Virtus International Awards in Portugal, it won Grand Gold in 2025 and Gold in 2026, while at the Catavinum World Wine & Spirits Competition it won Grand Gold two years in a row (2025 and 2026).
Each of these awards confirms that Gran Reserva is a label that has proven it belongs at the very top of the most renowned competitions in the wine world. Its ability to keep earning this recognition reflects the constant work behind every bottle and makes it one of the greatest sources of pride for Tres Raíces.

CABERNET SAUVIGNON RESERVA: THE WINE THAT TURNED CONSISTENCY INTO AN INTERNATIONAL LEGACY
If Gran Reserva represents the ultimate expression of Tres Raíces, Cabernet Sauvignon Reserva shows how that quality can also be built over time. In recent years, this label has developed one of the most consistent track records in Mexican wine, becoming one of the most decorated wines in Guanajuato and a worthy ambassador for Mexico.
Cabernet Sauvignon Reserva is made from one of the most celebrated and widely planted red varieties in the world. When fully ripe, this grape can develop great color intensity, structure, and tannins, along with remarkable aging potential. Its character lends itself to complex, elegant wines, both in blends and on its own, especially when grown in the right conditions.
Its story began as Cabernet Sauvignon, but as the winery's winemaking project evolved, the wine stepped up to a higher category: Cabernet Sauvignon Reserva. This change reflected a more demanding winemaking philosophy, in which every stage seeks to develop greater complexity, structure, and elegance.
What defines its Reserva character is 18 months of aging in new French oak barrels, followed by additional time resting in bottle before release. This process integrates the oak notes with the expression of the fruit, resulting in a wine of greater depth, elegance, and aging potential.
The results of recent years reflect that work. Like Gran Reserva, Cabernet Sauvignon Reserva won the Gold Medal at the Concours Mondial de Bruxelles in 2025 and earned the Gold Medal again in 2026, an achievement reserved for very few labels.
In Guía Peñín, the most important specialist publication on Spanish wine, Cabernet Sauvignon Reserva earned 93 points in the 2025 edition and 92 points in 2026, ranking among the Mexican labels most highly rated by this renowned guide.
Its performance at the Bacchus International Competition has been just as outstanding. There, it achieved an exceptional feat, winning Grand Gold in 2024, followed by a Gold Medal in 2025 and another Gold Medal in 2026, three consecutive awards at one of the most demanding competitions on the continent.
Its consistency also shows at the Decanter World Wine Awards, where it won a Bronze Medal in 2024, 2025, and 2026. Maintaining a steady presence for three consecutive editions at the competition organized by Decanter magazine is proof of the competitive level this great label has reached.
At the Virtus International Awards in Portugal, Cabernet Sauvignon Reserva has been recognized in every edition since Tres Raíces first entered the competition: Grand Gold in 2024, Grand Gold in 2025, and Gold in 2026, remaining undefeated at one of the fastest-growing international competitions.
Add to these the Gold Medals won at Catavinum in 2025 and 2026, plus an especially meaningful award at the London Tasting Awards, where it earned one of only six Gold Medals given to wines from the Americas, a testament to the level it has reached against labels from around the world.
The international journey continues with a Silver Medal at the Concours International de Lyon in France, and with awards at México Selection by Concours Mondial de Bruxelles, where the wine won Gold in 2024 and Silver in 2025, also reaffirming its leadership at the national level.
Beyond the numbers, Cabernet Sauvignon Reserva has built something even more valuable: a reputation. In just a few years, it has become one of the most representative labels of Tres Raíces and one of the great ambassadors of Guanajuato wine. Its constant presence among the top international competitions shows that quality isn't the result of one exceptional vintage, but of a solid project.

“Today, Cabernet Sauvignon Reserva doesn't just represent Tres Raíces; it represents the moment Guanajuato wine is living.”
CALADOC RESERVA
In recent years, Caladoc Reserva has become one of the fastest-rising labels in the Tres Raíces portfolio. Made from a variety rarely grown in Mexico, this wine has shown that a lesser-known grape can also develop a personality of its own and stand out internationally.
Caladoc has a story as unique as its character. It was born in France in 1958 as a cross between Grenache and Malbec, two varieties that give it complementary traits. From the first it inherits part of its fruit expression, and from the second a structure that allows for wines of great presence. It's a variety that can develop deep color, good structure, and firm tannins, along with notes of red berries, ripe fruit, and spice.
Its relative youth and limited presence compared with more widely planted varieties make finding a wine made from Caladoc an opportunity to discover a different expression. At Tres Raíces, this variety found room to show its potential and become a label that embodies the search for new possibilities in Mexican wine.
Its track record stands out with 93 points in Guía Peñín 2025 and 92 points in 2026, plus a Gold Medal at the Concours Mondial de Bruxelles 2026. Add to these a Bronze Medal at the Decanter World Wine Awards for the past three years, as well as Grand Gold Medals at Catavinum in 2024 and 2026, securing its place among the winery's standout labels.
Without making as much noise as the house's other iconic labels, Caladoc Reserva has become another clear example of what sets Tres Raíces apart.

TEMPRANILLO RESERVA
Although it tends to stay under the radar, Tempranillo Reserva has built a track record that deserves recognition. This wine has shown remarkable consistency in international competitions, confirming the potential of one of Spain's most iconic varieties grown on Guanajuato soil.
Tempranillo is one of Spain's most representative red varieties and the backbone of great wines from regions such as Rioja and Ribera del Duero. Its early budbreak makes it especially vulnerable to spring frosts, and its thin skin requires careful attention as it develops. In return, it offers wines with structure, deep color, fruit, and remarkable aging potential, qualities that have allowed it to thrive in wine regions around the world.
In Tempranillo Reserva, these qualities have translated into internationally recognized consistency. Its main achievements include 91 points in Guía Peñín in both the 2025 and 2026 editions, a Gold Medal at the Concours Mondial de Bruxelles 2026, and 91 points at the Decanter World Wine Awards 2025. Add to these a Grand Gold Medal at Virtus 2026, as well as awards at Catavinum, where it won Grand Gold in 2025 and Gold in 2026.
More than a take on a Spanish variety in new territory, Tempranillo Reserva represents Guanajuato's ability to give its own identity to internationally traditional grapes, showing that a grape's character can also find new forms of expression on Mexican soil.

PINOT NOIR
To talk about Tres Raíces Pinot Noir is to talk about the wine that marked a turning point in the winery's history. It was the label that opened the door to international recognition and proved that a wine made in Guanajuato could stand out against some of the world's great wineries.
Pinot Noir is considered one of the most demanding varieties for a grape grower. Its relatively early ripening and great sensitivity to terroir mean that growing conditions are decisive in unlocking its full potential. In climates that are too warm it can ripen quickly, making it hard to develop the complex aromas and flavors that define the variety. That is precisely why its adaptation and expression on Guanajuato soil is a challenge Tres Raíces has turned into part of its identity.
Its greatest achievement came in 2023, when Pinot Noir 2021 won the Grand Gold Medal at the Concours Mondial de Bruxelles. This result marked a historic moment for Tres Raíces and for Mexican wine, placing this label among the highest honors earned by Mexican wines in that edition.
Add to this 92 points in Guía Peñín 2024 and 2025, 91 points in 2026, a Bronze Medal at the Decanter World Wine Awards 2026, a Gold Medal at the Concours International de Lyon 2026, a Gold Medal at Catavinum 2026, and 92 points in the Guía Catadores del Vino Mexicano 2023, where it ranked among the top-rated wines in its category.
Beyond its awards, Pinot Noir marks the beginning of a new chapter for Tres Raíces. It was the label that opened a door the winery has kept walking through, harvest after harvest, building a story of growth and presence on the Mexican wine scene.

CABERNET FRANC - MERLOT
Cabernet Franc – Merlot is a classic blend that strikes a balance between two traditional varieties, bringing structure, elegance, and personality. Together, they find a distinctive expression in the Tres Raíces vineyards, making this one of the standout labels in the portfolio.
Cabernet Franc, a parent of Cabernet Sauvignon, tends to offer a more delicate expression, with good structure and earlier ripening. Merlot, for its part, brings more softness, fruit, and a fleshier texture, qualities that have earned it a key role in the great Bordeaux blends. Combining the two varieties creates a wine that is balanced, elegant, and approachable, where the structure of Cabernet Franc meets the roundness of Merlot.
Its international journey reached one of its high points at the Decanter World Wine Awards, where it scored 94 points in 2025, the highest score ever achieved by a Tres Raíces wine in the history of this prestigious competition. Add to this 92 points in 2026 and a Bronze Medal in 2024, cementing its presence at one of the most renowned competitions in the world.
Its performance has also remained consistent on other international stages: 90 points in Guía Peñín 2024 and 91 points in 2026, plus a Gold Medal at Bacchus 2026. At the Virtus International Awards it won Grand Gold in 2024 and 2026, and Gold in 2025. Add to these three consecutive Gold Medals at Catavinum, a Gold Medal at the Los Angeles International Wine Awards – Pacific Rim Wine Competition 2024, a Silver Medal at the Concours International de Lyon 2026, and one of the few Gold Medals awarded to the Americas at the London Tasting Awards 2026.
More than a classic blend, Cabernet Franc – Merlot shows Tres Raíces' ability to take time-honored varieties and find their own expression, crafting a wine that has consistently stood out on the international stage.

ROSÉ
One of the pioneering wines of Tres Raíces, Rosé has been part of the winery's story since its earliest years and today keeps proving that a rosé can also shine at the highest level.
Made from Grenache and Caladoc, this wine brings together two varieties with complementary traits. Grenache, one of the most important Mediterranean varieties, is the most abundant grape in the Rhône and the most widely planted in Spain, where it is often found in prized old vines. Caladoc, for its part, is a French variety, a cross between Grenache and Malbec, known for its deep color, structure, and fruit expression. Its rare presence in Mexico gives this blend a distinctive character.
2026 has been this wine's most successful year so far. This year alone it has won a Gold Medal at Bacchus, a Silver Medal at the Concours Mondial de Bruxelles, and Gold at Virtus 2026, while maintaining remarkable consistency in Guía Peñín, with 89 points in 2024, 2025, and 2026. Add to these the Best of Class at the Los Angeles International Wine Awards – Pacific Rim Wine Competition, where it won Grand Gold in 2024 and Gold in 2025.
Its track record also includes 94 points in the Guía Catadores del Vino Mexicano 2023, Gold Medals at CMB México Selection 2023 and 2024, Silver in 2025, and Gold at Catavinum 2026. A collection of awards that confirms the evolution of a wine born alongside the story of Tres Raíces that, over time, keeps finding new reasons to stand out.

A LEGACY BUILT HARVEST AFTER HARVEST
The results speak for themselves. The medals, scores, and awards earned in recent years have placed Tres Raíces and several of its labels among the most recognized wines in Guanajuato, taking our region's name to some of the most important wine stages in the world.
Behind every medal or score there is much more than a bottle: work, decisions, learning, and a team that always strives to surpass what it has achieved before. This has allowed us to build a project that stopped chasing one-off awards and began building a new legacy.
Over the past three years, Tres Raíces has become one of the great ambassadors of Guanajuato and Mexico to the world, competing against wines from some of the most renowned wine regions on the planet and showing that our land, too, can produce labels that stand out among the very best.
At Tres Raíces, we will keep working with the same conviction, because the goal doesn't end with a medal or a score. We want to keep building a legacy, keep raising the profile of Guanajuato wine, and show that consistency can also become excellence and the soul of Mexican wine.
